I swear, I didn’t want to publish this one but the devil inside me kept saying, “It’s OK, go for it! You are not an angel anyway.”  Everyone is writing about love, friendship, mountain, sea, dog and I am the only person spreading negativity.
By the way, what people do for contest posts, I do the same for every single post after submitting them to indivine.  The bottom line is:  I am going to lose some more visitors now :D .

  1. I wish I had so much creativity! This was bang on… I never vote for anyone who says ‘I voted for you, please vote for me’. It’s really a put off! I comment only when I like something.
And well, it’s easier to get votes from your non-blogger friends in contests like these ;)

    • Debajyoti told:

i know, it’s actually unnecessary considering MOST OF US anyway read those who comment on our blogs :D

there is nothing creative about these cartoons. anyone can create them on some of those sites.

i know, you get more votes from non-blogger friends in these contests :D

thanks for the comment. and please add e-mail subscription option on your blog. I was searching for it the other day.

  2. Green Speck told:

What can I say Sir …. I am your fan now !!!

  3. As usual, you hit the nail on the head, or rather the hammer on the gong :D

BTW, I am so inspired by you that I ventured into the comic strip genre with this post –
    Hair and there

Before you make a new post out of this, I want to clarify that my intention here is not self-promotion through a popular, mass-appeal garnering blog, but to pay my humble tribute to your inspirational creativity. (In other words, I expect your vote for this post ASAP :P )

    • Debajyoti told:

i almost had tears in my eyes while reading your comment :D . a popular blog, humble tribute, inspirational creativity? will continue to comment and vote for all your posts even if you stop visiting my blog :D .

btw, i did read that post and voted as well. if not, my apologies. will visit your blog ASAP. many thanks for this wonderful comment. it’s ok if i don’t get any more comment on this post now :D

  4. jaishvats told:

Chose to read this before going to bed and Thanks buddy, it put a huge grin on my face! My My! You are too good! ha ha

  5. This post has made my day. I was just amused by the way you represented the facts of competition. All the best and thanks for sharing . I was just smiling for few minutes after reading this.

    • Debajyoti told:

thank you so much for this lovely comment! i usually write self-deprecatory humor but was getting bored so decided to take a dig at others. thanks again for the comment :)

  6. Sohini told:

You are an angel anyway :D
You can churn out a comic strip out of anything!!
And no matter how much you go on nailing the fellow petty bloggers (like me, for instance :P ) , I shall never get tired of reading this blog!

Now since we are done with praises anyway, let’s get back to voting! :D

  7. Jay told:

Ahhhhhh…….Yes, my dose of refreshment has arrived. And you brought it at precisely the correct time.

I think the last pic nailed it, bang on target. I loved the guy with the gun, that’s precisely what’s happening.

You know, I learnt a lot about contests and my social network in this last one week since my submission. I don’t know whether it can be validated or not but I found that my blogger friends really helped me out (of course, that includes you :D ). Also, it brought to light the social network and what they do on these networks. I realized that people have absolutely no clue what a social network is and it is mostly used for egoistic purposes and the amount of attention which an individual is able to draw is directly proportional to the gender of a person.

P.S. I must admit, I was actually, literally rolling on the couch laughing to this one because I could relate to the experiences you’ve described here. Sad, but true.

    Long live dark comedy :D :D :D :D

    Regards

    Jay
    My Newest Blog Post

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, these cartoons are nothing but a little exaggeration of reality :D . the fact is, bloggers actually help each other out otherwise our blogs wouldn’t have survived.

i don’t use social networking. for me this blog is my only connection with virtual world.

i do all this everyday :D . i vote blindly for each and everything. and i don’t do this for charity :D .

many thanks for the comment and i am going to read your post later tonight because that’s a subject which i would like to read peacefully :)

  8. Ramya told:

ROFL LMAO :D superb one :D last one was amazing cant stop laughing! First stop here :D too good loved it :D

  10. Meenakshi told:

I couldn’t stop laughing at this one. Agree, any one can use internet tools available to make comic strips but this satirical yet relevant observation is hard to come by. BTW I did think of entering this contest, but sadly, first of all I didn’t have a love story [My own love story got converted into marriage:( sigh! that's a tragedy I will leave for some other time] and then I knew no body will vote for me. So I dropped the idea.

Well done and I am waiting for the long post!

    • Debajyoti told:

thank you so much! i publish a cartoon or a long post only if i laugh at it myself :D . yes, i am a brilliant cartoonist :D

please write that story even if you don’t submit it for any contest. i really want to read something on your blog which i can understand :D

      • Meenakshi told:

I seek a clarification here, you are encouraging me or pulling my leg:( Are my post really that incomprehensible!

        • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, i am not pulling your leg. i have been trying to comment on your posts but couldn’t come up with anything other than- ‘brilliant post, enjoyed reading it!” so decided not to comment :D

  11. Diana Pinto told:

    • Debajyoti told:

fact for some, fiction for the rest (did that make any sense?). no worries about that visiting and commenting, i can do anything for a return visit. need to find some more visitors. this post is not getting enough comments. will resort to begging now.

  19. well I never asked for votes but I guess I am gonna start if from now on…. :)

  25. Saru Singhal told:

    LOL

I lines I like the most was, Prolific bole to, he comes with the most every 10 mins. I am sure, I can never be prolific by his standards. BTW, you are not spreading negativity, you are lightening the tension. Though, I am not participating in Get Published Contest. Hope all my friends make it and which will make the book very very heavy.

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, thank you so much! even i am not participating primarily because i cannot write anything other than some stupid posts.

because of this contest, i got to read some exceptional stories. really looking forward to this book. it’s going to be awesome!!!

  26. Arnab Maity told:

Well, you seem to be competing with yourself now! You have really carved a niche with your blogger satires, keep them coming! On a serious note, I always thought you were a good writer Deb, you should have written something for the contest.

    • Debajyoti told:

no, i think i am done with this blogger series. i was posting them to drive some traffic, that’s it :D .

nah, i am not good enough to write for that contest but i am glad that this contest is happening. there are many deserving writers out there who will get a chance to see their works published.

      many thanks for the comment!

  27. NPARI told:

WOW!! Found it damn funny! Extremely creative! :) Will follow this blog to look at more creative works of yours.

    • Debajyoti told:

no no, you won’t find any creative work here. i usually write long posts but because i was losing visitors i did these cartoons to get new visitors. and these cartoons can be created on sites like toondoo.com using the tools they provide. thank you so much for reading!

      • NPARI told:

That nice of you to share that website :) Guess what? I love reading long posts :P I am book addict and like reading good stuff. So you can expect me here, quite often :)

        • Debajyoti told:

if you continue to visit my blog (which i doubt) then you will get to read a lot of long posts :D because i force other bloggers to read whatever i write. thank you so much!!

  28. Hiten told:

    Hi Debajyoti,

What I can say? Sheer brilliance, once again!

I loved the graphic of you! I guess the moral of the story is don’t expect anything in return!

    Thank you.

  29. Asha told:

Hey Deb , that’s a good one ! I have been lately thinking the same thinking, just that nobody’s pointed a gun at me yet ;)

  30. Bhavana Lalwani told:

Seriously Funny .. yet a bitter reality but to be honest .. I am really thankful to those 20 people who has voted for my entry as I haven’t did the same for others (as far as I remember) .. opps .. I am gonna lose future votes (If there would be any) :P :)

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, no you won’t lose future votes because no one is going to read this post anymore. i am not sure whether i am one of those 20 people who voted for your entry. i think i couldn’t find the link to your entry. many thanks for the comment!!

  31. gayatri soni told:

Hahaha…..you are just an amazing guy,”amazing bole toh?………..someone full of witticism, criticism, fun, & concern too”. ;) I liked the note below. :) Always listen to your inner soul, because it’s (again) amazing. I don’t think you are losing your visitors anymore, so just chill! :)
Loved your expressions in this post, and your DP in Indiblogger- it’s funny! ;) :) :D

  32. Uma told:

Man, this is awesome . The truth of getting votes and at the final stage begging for votes :( . Is that mean our confidence level once when the story was written is getting dimished after getting fewer or no votes ?
And college kids and office goers would definetly be on top list :p owing to the fact of meeting many people all day ….but again will everyone we ask put votes ? so many questions and only the results of HC would answer .
Btw, which site are you using to create these cartoons? hoping to learn your trick :D

    • Debajyoti told:

we know that very few would vote for our entries unless we ask for it. so we have no choice, we want to see our works published. it’s applicable for our regular posts as well. not too many people voluntarily read our posts. we make them read :D .

our confidence level does go down when we see unfavorable response.

many thanks for the comment and try toondoo.com, this one has many options and it’s the most popular one. if you want to know the site i use, let me know.

  33. Amit told:

I swear I did only one post asking for votes but then nothing after that. I did not even approach my non-blogger friends. :(
Frankly, I cannot understand the concept of votes for publishing something.

    • Debajyoti told:

      why didn’t you approach your non-blogger friends :D ?

i know it doesn’t make sense asking bloggers to get votes for their stories. people like me who usually exploit the loopholes can get hundreds of votes after submitting a blank page. by the way, i have voted for your story again yesterday :D .

  34. smita told:

There you go!! You now have my vote for this post ! :) Jokes apart, good work!!

  35. Kartik told:

This is superrrr creative! U sure know how to tickle the funny bone! Sometimes when we are anxious about something, it gets the creative best out. I do experience that often. Realized it too while writing http://shaivikafunda.blogspot.in/2013/01/ek-chhoti-si-hate-story.html.
Keep up the good job & all the best…

  37. Joyti told:

I get tired of all the cheery, happy “my life is so perfect and blessed and I dont even try!!!” posts in the blogosphere. This was so refreshing. And cute.
    Thanks for sharing.

  38. i like the purple colour you gave to your avatar there :P

the guy with the gun in hand is making a request using the word ‘please’ ..lol .

  39. Superb. Lovely take on these contests and mutual back scratching. This reminded me of the cartoons I used to read in my child hood days. Long long ago. :)

  43. Your creativity knows no bound!!

Such a good sense of humor and a very well-made comic. You’ve a new fan;)

  45. Loved the strip. Never knew you are so talented as a cartoonist. A cartoonist with a wicked sense of humour is an irresistible combination.

  46. Soumya Gupta told:

    Haha!
Man! I have been going through IndiVine, thinking maybe I’d go through some awesome stuff and upvote it. But all I find are people preaching! It’s like, they write for being called writers.

Of course, some are different, like yours.

All posts seem to be revolving around how good they are at a particular thing, masters of the universe!

I think I just got too rude. Nobody’s gonna read my blog now. :|

  47. Deepa told:

On the contrary! You added one to your list of followers! Had a hearty laugh at prolific!

  48. Chondryma told:

You are so good at it… Each of your blog has a hidden concept or fact, portrayed in a humurous angle. Keep spreading the message and keep entertaining us with your cartoons :) I am added in your avid reader list…
