Lame post, eh?  Do you know my alexa rank is on a steady decline, and even my indirank dropped because of my laziness?  What do you expect me to do?  Shut down my blog?  Anyway, this post is also for my new visitors whom I lured into my blog showing few one frame cartoons and then made them read some agonizingly long posts.  I will be posting these stupid cartoons from now on because writing long posts is quite a tedious job.  I might also write few poems because I am versatile; I win versatile awards.

  1. My Say told:

looks like you are in no mood to spare the Blogging Arena (specially the Indiblogger arena)…this time indirect slaps using cartoons !! Well,I made no mistake in selecting you as one of favourite blogger (like many, i am sure) since I have known factsandnonsense.com !
Deb you are humour at its best ! trust me ! Cartoons are my favourite way of expressions as they say a lot in few but well placed geometrical shapes ! With your kind of intellect it is always a pleasure enjoying cartoons all the more !

If i remember well, you’re not that keen about politics (u mentioned in one of my previous posts , a little long back :) – see i have so few admirers , I even remember who said what :D ) yet I would love to see your take on Indian politics , someday !! Deb style !!

You’re among those few bloggers whose long posts I do not mind reading … trust me !As usual very nice..no matter how high you’re alexa rank is and you’re indiblogger rank.. you are humour itself at its best !!

As a fan of your writing all I wish for is a political post In Deb style !!

    :D

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, no i am just doing timepass :D . thanks a lot for the all the wonderful things you always have to say about my posts :)

unfortunately, i cannot draw anything. i just use the tools on different sites to create cartoons. so technically, i am not a cartoonist. i would love to learn how to draw cartoons. may be you need to teach me that.

i have absolutely no clue about politics. may be someday i will go through the profiles of some of the politicians and do a cartoon.

thanks again for such a lovely comment :)

      • My Say told:

I would have taught you drawing cartoons … just let me learn drawing them , first :D … i envy u because u can write and know sites from where u can pick up cartoons as well … and the combination is always a great post. With me , neither do I write good nor do I draw … just that I realize this only when I encounter truely talented ppl like u :D I can better teach u politics … they say I better stop myself before I myself end up fighting elections :D

        • Debajyoti told:

i absolutely love your posts and there is so much i can learn from you. yeah there are sites where you can register and use the tools to create cartoons and you have the copyright of everything you create there.

if you join politics, at least we will have good people running the country :)

  2. Do I get points for posting ‘lol!!!!’ ???? Seriously, where do you even come up with these lonny toony freaky hillarious ideas???

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha because i am jobless. no, you have to publish at least one post per day to fulfil the eligibility criteria :D . thanks Minnie for reading this stupid post :)

  3. I enjoyed reading this post and the one preceding it. Makes me think hard. Thanks for sharing the ‘sarcasm’ that is so wonderfully articulated!!

I shall be back for more :P

    :)

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, thank you so much! actually, i am bit lazy when it comes to publishing new posts; so, you might get bored :D .

btw, i love your writing. i sneak into many blogs and read posts :)

  4. Ooooo.. first to comment.. My BQ is receiving a big boost already!

Loved your post! Very original! How creative and versatile you are! Hereby award you the Creasatile Award. All you need to do is nominate 25 other bloggers, including me, to pass this award to. And answer all the questions on Page 231 of Inorganic Chemistry (Part 2) by J.D.Lee.

Kindly calculate my BQ and post it in your reply. It’s okay if you skip the customary “thanks” and get straight to the decimal point.

BTW, the reader looks suspiciously like Suresh Sir :D

Starting my week with a good laugh! Thanks DJ :)

    • Debajyoti told:

no, your is not the first comment :( . you get negative points for that.

you are mad and you will put me in trouble as well. that person doesn’t look like Suresh. Suresh has less hair on his head :D

thanks a lot Mixi! your comments are more hilarious than my posts. you might actually drive all my visitors to your blog :D

      • Dammit! You and your belated comment moderation skewed my First Comment points :(

      • C. Suresh told:

If you had to make someone look like me at all, I’m glad you made him a reader:) Going by what your blogger hero normally does I would not want to be identified with him. Not when it tumbles every skeleton out of my cupboard :)

        • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, no Suresh, i won’t make any of my comic characters look like my regular visitors (as long as they continue to comment on my posts :D ). i didn’t create any new character for this post. Just used whatever i had.

  5. what if people do not comment and i still add a comment on my post for all those unknown readers .. i mean spammers who visited my page atleast once .. how many points i score ..? :P lol

    • Debajyoti told:

psst, even i approve spam comments when everyone finishes reading my posts :D . thanks a lot Rahul, you get 100 points for reading this post!

  6. Green Speck told:

I wish you write such posts daily … your cartoon strips are real fun :-)

  7. Soumi told:

    *laughs.hysterically*
This is indeed your forte, you are really good at what you do.
Somewhere down the line, I could sense my alter ego talking through your post… :)
And then at some points it got trolled. :p
Would love reading some of your poems really. :)

    • Debajyoti told:

thanks a lot Soumi! i am really grateful to you for posting such nice comments every time, even though my posts don’t deserve so much of praise :)

will copy one line from each of your posts and my poem will be ready :D

      • Soumi told:

Well whatever I write here, I genuinely mean it. But anyways, that’s not why I am here again now.
About your poem… Ohh please do that. Do that and mention my name in just a couple of them… :P
And then, Voila! I am famous!! :D
I will owe you Debajyoti! Please do that!! :D

  8. gunjan sinha told:

deb,you did it again and for sure, you are going to get a lot of readers.

    smiley needed .

  9. Jay told:

    Hi Debajyoti,

    Excellent post !!!!

Ok, done with the cliche. :p :p :p
I actually loved the last prop in the 3rd pic i.e. the gun, reminds me of the Get Published contest and one of your cartoons.

    Poetry??? Hmmm……now, let’s have a flavor of that, Debajyoti-style. :) :)

I do agree with the last paragraph, though. It is quite time consuming to write a long article. I think these small snippets & comics are just fine for all of us running on low reserves of time. Keep em coming, maybe I’ll also try some short stuffs. :p :p :p

    Regards

    Jay
    My Blog

    • Debajyoti told:

hey, thanks a lot Jay! i always use a gun to drive traffic :D .

oh yes, i am definitely going to write poetry and you have to read them :D

yes, it’s not only for alexa or indi rank, if we don’t publish something for a long time then our regular visitors also forget to check out our blogs. so yeah, even you need to come up with some short stuffs if you are busy with things.

  10. The Fool told:

This blogger psychology comics just rock. The thought of the dog etc. are especially an unique artistic touch. I am thinking what you will take on next.

  11. ratika told:

o god, i will have to read ur comments on my blog carefully next time, read between the lines u c…everyone has already said what i wanted to…:)

    • Debajyoti told:

no Ritika, when i comment, i am not sarcastic; otherwise how will i get visitors :D ? many thanks for the comment :)

      • ratika told:

its ratika.. Nt ritika.. Cnt help correct u.. :) its my name..

        • Debajyoti told:

i am so sorry, that’s actually an unpardonable mistake. i have two options here – either edit my previous comment or admit my mistake here and make sure i spell it correctly next time. guess, i will go for the latter :D .

  12. TTT told:

In almost all your posts I am able to identify myself !!!!!! So how can I not read your posts eh ?

  13. Awwwwwiiiiiiiiii! It hit hard!! I wonder why!!!

  14. One frame cartoons would sure leave us asking for more :-D

Alexa & Indi Ranks do matter… but unless you’re world famous in the universe … like googles, facebooks, yahoos… the ranking will any how start declining after being stagnant at its all time best : – ))

Not being sarcastic to say.. “That’s an excellent post… ;-)

    • Debajyoti told:

one frame cartoons get me maximum number of readers :D

alexa, google and mozrank doesn’t really matter for me but i would love to see a good rank for ego satisfaction :D . indirank does matter because a lower rank affects my votes.

thank you so much for the comment :)

  15. Brilliant Post ! ( note the exclamation mark!) !

  16. Rupertt Wind told:

Dude now that you made it a point to read all those crappy blogs, I think you can read mine too. Its just just as crappy as everyone else’s if not more

Oh I almost forgot, the Smiley :) I can see you already have a lot of it but what the hell . :)

    • Debajyoti told:

i do read your blog. you are one of my oldest commenters! that’s more than enough for me to see what’s happening on your blog :)

many thanks for the comment and for those smileys :)

  17. magiceye told:

Lol! You are brilliant!! Your acidic views are getting sharper by the day and am loving it!!

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, just published this one in a haste to get few pageviews :D .

thanks a lot for the comment; and i am pretty good when it comes to acidic views :D

  18. saikat ghosh told:

sir aap mahan ho :D :P sab ki class le liya …….!!!! and yr formula they shud get u a noble or 2 in bloggamatics , path breaking invention :D :P

    awesm post as always :)

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, isn’t this formula cool? will come up with more to evaluate various aspects of blogging :D . thank you so much Saikat! your ‘path breaking invention’ line had me in splits; rofl :D

  19. jahid akhtar told:

Wow! Brilliant post, will come back soon :) :)
Great to know that U won versatile award, try some thriller next time. What say?

  20. FUNjabie told:

Ummm… “beautiful post! Very well written!” … So, my ranking goes up, right? LOL. On a serious note, very funny! :)

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, thank you so much! well, just made some changes in the last formula. now, it should give you correct results :D . and those who read my blog have a very high BQ, yup.

  21. Usha told:

I noticed that many ladies are cooking with rice bran oil so checked indiblogger and randomly clicked your post as it was on top spot…I thoroughly enjoyed reading your post. Good observation and very well written post with great cartoons. Thanks. :)

    • Debajyoti told:

thank you so much! that’s why i move my posts up on indivine, so that it gets noticed :D . thanks again :)

apart from sizzlingindianrecipes, do you have any other blog on indiblogger?

      • Usha told:

I am glad you moved up this post to top and even if it was not at top position your heading is catchy enough for any blogger to click and read…I read few other posts, they are wonderful.

I don’t have any other blog on indiblogger and even my this blog is not registered there, I silently sit in corner and post few recipes and not active in blogging world…may be this year I will start some involvement. I rarely visit indiblogger but yesterdays visit is great coincidence to hit your blog. :)

        • Debajyoti told:

Mostly, i force visitors to read my posts :D . So, it feels great when someone reads them voluntarily, and i am grateful to you for this wonderful comment.

i would request you to submit your blog to indiblogger. there are many who would want to try new recipes. even i go through them because i love how the dishes look and how nicely the preparation methods are explained.

  22. chaitanya told:

Eye-opening in many ways… I got to learn about the much talked about award process as well as the @$$-kissing process for the awards ;)

    Your cartoons are simply brilliant.

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, thank you so much! awards are given to blogger friends or those who get more votes/visitors; however, there are few who give these awards to bloggers they like reading. even i get awards :D

  23. Amit told:

You are the only blogger who spanks his readers virtually and still get comments!
    !!!!
    - A beggar. :P

  24. Ash told:

Ha ha ! I never knew blogging and reading were such involved and score filled business and if I had, I wouldn’t have jumped into into another rat race. I hate Indirank and all other statistics, I hate any numbers which make me feel worse off.
Your cartoons are amazing ! Wherever did you get those equations !!

    • Debajyoti told:

actually, i don’t enjoy writing but i love this game of driving traffic and accumulating votes on indiblogger :D . it’s fun!!

i worked hard to come up with these equations. i should get a nobel prize for that, yup.

thank you so much for the comment!

  25. C. Suresh told:

Hey Debs! Now that you have done all that you can from me, how about moving over to another blogger? :)

Like TF, the dog’s thoughts stood out for me too :)

And you know how many points you get if you answer that with only a smiley :)

    • Debajyoti told:

yeah, will come up with more cartoons on bloggers, but for that i need to find out who all have stopped visiting my blog :D .

I am glad you liked that dog’s thoughts. I added this as an afterthought.

cannot reply back with a smiley because i always have a lot to say :D

thank you so much for reading this :)

  26. odyzz told:

Do you really approve the spam comments too ?? ROFL :) ) .. Ahaa!!Mr.Versatile ,I shall pray for you ..so that you receive the nobel prize soon…Do take care of yourself ..I hope you don’t need the bullet proof jacket ,as people might want that secret formula of driving traffic and accumulating votes on Indiblogger… :) )
Hey!! Deb,Thanks a lott for going through my previous posts and leaving your precious comments ..they mean a lot to me.. :) ..

    • Debajyoti told:

don’t tell me i have lost one more comment of yours. i swear, i haven’t deleted any comment. i have been frantically searching the spam folder as well :D .

yeah, i need to protect this secret formula of accumulating votes on indiblogger :D

i told you, i am a huge fan of your writing. and i will continue to go through your blog archive. i might not comment immediately because i need a lot of time to read and understand a post. so, i peacefully go through them.

thank you so much for reading Odyzz :)

  27. odyzz told:

And Deb, please do calculate my BQ as well… Thank you in advance :) :)

  28. cifarshayar told:

cartoon posts after a long time, this post will surely increase your BQ

  29. I just skimmed through the whole post and here is the encouraging comment:

    KEEP THE CARTOONS COMING :)

I pretty much think that way too :) :)

  30. Ramya told:

YAPPAAAAAAAAAA (dont decode this word :D its deadly exclamation down south ) LMAO
Iyyo why do I feel so so guilty reading your post ya!!! is there any legal action that I can take against you!!!
Very very hard hitting :( seriously trust me :D somehow we are doing all these tricks and surviving in this BIG BIG blog world and you highlight the same things leaving us feel guilty!!!

Deb, a bow for your comic sense and plssssssss dont tell me my blog is an inspiration for this post :P :D .
Awesomely hilarious and SH*T how true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :|

    • Debajyoti told:

well, i understand all the deadly exclamations. my intention is not to make anyone feel guilty. i do these cartoons only to drive traffic and for those who quickly want to go through a post. these are not for my regular visitors.

many thanks for this wonderful comment :)

      • Ramya told:

        Hey Deb,
hope I dint offend you :D I was only intending on the lighter side :D Mocking is the best way to generate humor and you are best at it :D .

Cartoons are awesome, they try to communicate lot in very less words :D yes yes you should continue them :D Thanks for the hearty laugh which u promised for every stop out here!

        • Debajyoti told:

no, what makes you think that i got offended? damn, i forgot to put smileys :D . thank you so much for those lovely comments. my visitors and their comments always put a smile on my face :)

  31. Crunch told:

This is a really funny series Debajyoti. Kind of like our very own Jon Stewart blog version :) It’s funny what satire can do to highlight such silliness .. but even more so, your cartoons are wonderful. Have you considered coming up with an alternative cartoon series that shows what the blogosphere could be? I know that sounds like a yawn and not half as interesting as this here. But maybe there’s alter egos here somewhere to the characters that can show Indiblogger and Blog Adda what they can do to fix this LIKE madness! Lovely piece of work. You should consider publishing it. Really.

And thanks for stopping by my blog! No facts no nonsense for me :) Just therapy & silly stories of the world around me!

    • Debajyoti told:

thank you so much! you are right about that alternative cartoon series. it probably won’t be that interesting but i should give it a try. thanks a lot for the suggestion. but even i promote madly and that’s how my posts get noticed; and i don’t see an alternative option for me to get readers.

many thanks for this wonderful comment again and i thoroughly enjoyed one post which i read on your blog (the Mexican dish one was a click and promote :D ) and i will go through your blog archive :) .

      • Crunch told:

        thank you :)

        • Debajyoti told:

thank you so much for reading my posts! i see you have submitted a new post on indivine. going through it now :)

          • Crunch told:

:) I’m playing this game for the first time. I’ve spent years studying people that spend their life online. I’m getting into this game for the first time myself .. wondering if promoting other people’s posts is the only way to make this work! Honestly, I’ve scrolled through close to 100 pages of blog links on indivine and literally liked 1 – yours … from the entire damn list. I clicked on several others and am honestly perturbed by how bad the language is .. leave alone the content of the blog! I think I’m going to suck at this game.

            • Debajyoti told:

no, there are quite a few exceptional blogs. you probably have checked it at the wrong time. will send you a list of good blogs. but the problem is, some of them are very rude and this puts me off. so no matter how good they write, i cannot visit their blog and leave comments. also it’s not necessary that the readers will be good writers as well (even i consider myself a below par writer). it’s about getting readers. trust me, i am enjoying this game :)

              • Crunch told:

I’ve come across some wonderful blogs .. none on IndiVine though. So maybe my timing is wrong! I might come knocking at your door someday to study you and your game as part of what I do for a living (product/UI designer, social / cultural researcher of technology & tech users) :)

              • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, sure but it’s not always effective. i simply follow trial and error method. at times it works, at times it doesn’t. some of my best posts have gone unnoticed whereas some crappy ones got maximum likes and comments.

  32. Soumya Gupta told:

    Poems yay! :D
    Looking forward to them.

And I guess YOU get 0 points for the rudeness Q. :P

Am I included in the new bloggers? xD

    • Debajyoti told:

ok, finally the alien has conme after invading UK :D . just read your post on bongs. haven’t found it offensive yet. may be i need to go through it once more.

many thanks for the comment :)

      • Soumya Gupta told:

Haha. Actually it referred to another Bong friend of mine. And it’s not offensive really, don’t force yourself to take offence :-P

Though this does give me ideas xD

And my equation will probably be a little different.

  33. Naveen told:

This is one of the most candid post I have read. Thanks for doing that! To share with you my experience, I am a new to this whole blogging thing. So I usually submit my posts to IndiBlogger to get some (super-tiny amount of) traffic and possibly votes. So one time I submit one of my post and I get more than 5 votes in a day (yes 5 was a big number for me).

WordPress has this nice feature called Stats where I can see who visited my my blog / posts and via which link. Guess what it shows? Only one visitor, that too via Google search result. I visit the blogs of my voters and none of them seem to interest me. So I don’t follow them.

Now I really don’t need to tell you the number of votes I get for my next post! :)

    • Debajyoti told:

i just checked your profile on indiblogger and noticed that you haven’t submitted anything of late :D . even i vote blindly otherwise i wouldn’t get so many votes (of course, i wait for the page to load; and if i find that post interesting, i go through it). i drive decent number of traffic from indiblogger and some of them become my regular visitors.

thank you so much for reading this post :)

  34. Damyanti told:

Commenting is a wide-ranging issue, and you’ve done it complete justice :) . Thanks for the smiles and wisdom — with the A to Z Challenge 2013 looming large, Blog commenting has been a lot on my mind lately.

    • Debajyoti told:

well, it’s just how we behave in real life. when a friend greets us with a ‘hello,’ we respond. thank you so much for the comment :)

  35. Hahahaha – you made me laugh. Impressed by the cartoons. Keep going Debajyoti :)

    • Debajyoti told:

haha, thank you so much! actually, i cannot take credit for the drawing because i use applications provided by certain sites like toondoo.com to create these cartoons (i do have the copyright though). thanks again :)

  36. gayatri soni told:

You are at the peak of your creativity. A great satirist! :) You are actually the Spiderman, who attracts visitors with his humor while making fun of them. ;) I love your every post(!). :D Actually, I must admit that I visit your blog for the ‘feel good’ factor. It makes me feel happy. :)

I almost reply with smileys. ;) Loved the poem (pathological condition)!

    Will come back soon!!! ;)

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, yeah, i am spiderman :D ! that’s all i need, lots of visitors here :D . i am delighted to know that you actually like my posts.

yes, lots of smileys! thank you so much for the lovely comment :)

  37. Danny Simon told:

HEy! I hope I get all my exclamation marks right!
Well written! I haven’t enjoyed reading something like this since a very long time, make you smile and at the same time gives something to think about!

    • Debajyoti told:

yes, all the exclamation marks are there. thank you so much!

well, i can suggest you some really good humor blogs but i am not going to do that because i would like to see you here more often. in the meantime, i am going to copy stuffs from those blogs surreptitiously.

many thanks for the comment :)

  38. SS Kuruganti told:

Loved the cartoon. And I’m actually more impressed now that I know it’s from a site and not from your hand, because it takes ingenuity to use available resources so well!

I’ll definitely have to check out your other stuff, now. Thanks for sharing! =)

    • Debajyoti told:

well, actually i just use the tools to create characters, scenes, dialogues; and i have the copyright of whatever i create there. of course, i would love to learn drawing and create everything on paintbrush or other similar applications.

many thanks for the comment and do visit my blog whenever you have the time :)

  39. Monika told:

Like your way of explaining the concept uniquely and the most I love are the cartoons. Joined you on G+. I want to learn animation now! (:
    M♥

    • Debajyoti told:

thanks a lot! but the thing is i don’t know much about animation. just register with sites like toondoo.com and you will be able to create these cartoons using their applications. thanks for joining me on G+ but i hardly log in there :(

  40. Amazing!! just truly amazing. Loved the cartoons as well as your way of getting the message across. This is the first time i am reading your blog, and believe me, i am sure i’ll be visiting it very often :) . Also, Bookmarking it. Happy blogging!

  41. Pravin told:

    :-) Amazing and Outstanding post.

    Keep it up.

    Have a nice day.

  42. prachie told:

i think you are funny and that’s why i read till the end. you smart ass you! LOL!
so unapologetic about your approach to Blogging. Refreshing. i still don’t understand how this “blogging” thing works but thank you for the lesson, debo!

    • Debajyoti told:

well, i am actually very dumb but somehow i could figure out who my readers are and what they would like to read.

      these lessons won’t work :D .

      thanks for reading Prachie!

  43. Pankti told:

I seriously can’t stop laughing my ass off…and unfortunately, I am reading this at work :(
