55 words – blogging

I looked at the sky for some inspiration but all I could see was a crow hovering above my head with malicious intentions.  I pondered, ‘Will I be able to write something today or at least copy someone else’s work?’  Suddenly a divine voice emanated, “Try that 55 word thingy, dude.” And hence, this masterpiece.

Ah! The enlightenment, at last! Did it visit you under a tree or was it on the slippery slopes of Indivine? Now, I am in a good mood to shamelessly copy your idea now. I am sure you won’t be able to point even your small finger at me! The best I have ever read!

    • Debajyoti told:

hahahaha, i would like to dedicate this post to my quest for pageviews, votes, indirank etc etc. i am not going to point my finger at you because i learnt about this 55 word thing from all my blogger friends or rather copied the idea from them.

  2. subhorup told:

Why didn’t I think of this… very innovative and 55.

  3. umashankar told:

That was my first 55 word comment! :-D :-D :-D

  4. neha told:

    Hi Debajyoti

Every statement uttered would be a cockamamie one(now did i spell it rt? ) to someone or the other eh? Dunno what categories your blogs fit into but I always enjoy my visit here…Its not easy to make people laugh and you do it beautifully :D

    • Debajyoti told:

yes, you have spelt it correctly, i have checked. even i was not sure about the category but i thought lemme just put it somewhere, who will question me. btw, why did you laugh at my work?

hey listen i will publish my next post in 2-3 days time. please come back and read that one. now lemme see if i get few votes :D .

  6. Amit Agarwal told:

Yes IT IS! :) Great idea Deb:)in the garb of 55 simple words!

  7. Debajyoti told:

i was getting bored and wanted to publish something just for fun (and pageviews). but then i take hell lot of time to write a post, so this is all i could come up with. i never thought anyone will comment on this post :D . thank you so much for that :)

  8. sunita told:

Ultimate !!! really enjoyed the cartoon- the old haggard indeed has the drunk look o_O !!!

  9. Bikram told:

Wow.. are you trying to say that I bore you. By coming over too much here when ihave my own blog. :)
He he he what a innovative idea but then again for those who are good in 55 fiction someone like me can’t do that either…

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha. blogsphere is fun and lively because of guys like you. my blog won’t survive if you guys stop visiting :)

it was just a timepass thing shhhhhhhhhhhh……… I have absolutely no clue what 55 fiction is :D

  10. Panchali told:

    goodness! hahhaa..
    I loved this!

  11. Sheldon Coelho told:

Come to think of it. Innovative, interesting and brilliantly crafted.

  12. C. Suresh told:

So you can do the short and witty as well! Is there no end to your talent for humour:) (Not that I want any end to it…).

Why 2-3 days, Debs? I am off on a trek on 4th and shall be out of action till 20th. Can’t you make it sooner?:)

    • Debajyoti told:

hahaha, this is just a stupid post but thanks for the comment.

you have fun, enjoy your trekking. once you come back, i will force you to read all pending posts :D . however, i wouldn’t want you to read the next one because that will be a nasty post oozing with negativity, which a nice person like you wouldn’t enjoy reading. i saw your posts on indivine, will read them tomorrow. i was sleeping the entire day :D

  13. Ash told:

    Awesome :) imaginative!

  14. Rajnish told:

  18. Wah, a masterpiece indeed! Very creative, Deb! It’s the best 55 fiction I have ever read :)

Loved that cartoon too, BTW. Where did you find it?

    Keep blogging :)

    • Debajyoti told:

thank you so much. well, i wanted some activity on my blog so just published this stupid post.

the source of the cartoon is mentioned at the bottom although it was there on multiple sites.

      thanks again :)

  19. V.Khawani told:

What an idea, sir ji ! You are my inspiration !
    great post !

  20. Sudhagee told:

An inspired masterpiece of a post, Imust say. It reminds me of the time I used to pester my grandfather for a story as a child. Who would always tell me this story: “Ek tha raja, ek thi rani. Dono mar gaye. Khatam kahani.”

And he would pack me off to some other adult willing to tell me a story. :-)

    • Debajyoti told:

well, allow me to explain. i was writing a post for several days (am still writing) and i knew i will not be able to complete it in near future. i also knew that no one would question me for writing few stupid lines and submitting it on indivine. so for the sake of visitors, votes and indirank, i submitted this. and now i can see few comments as well, finally. i am so happy now :)

thank you so much for the comment and now i am sending you to other blogs; they will tell you some story :D

  21. Mani Kumar told:

    seriously, that’s plagiarism!
can i copy it too? lol ;)

  22. Ekta told:

Very smart, very Intelligent and very quick instead!

You inspired me to try the same..lets see if i succeed or my writer’s block takes over me, yet again!

    • Debajyoti told:

i was too confused and was in a hurry to submit something and didn’t know what to write.

thank you so much for the comment and please write that. we will have a new kind of 55 word fiction :)

  23. lol ! enjoyed :) really i did …. it good to let yourself loose sometimes… you never know when you end up with a masterpiece … ;)

  24. Meera told:

So, I see the 55 bug finally bit you…. welcome to the dark side :)

  25. Saru Singhal told:

And the flow of thoughts happen. A 55 talking about 55, how cool is that!

    • Debajyoti told:

is it cool? i thought people will laugh at me and inditeam will delete my profile for abusing the idea of 55 word fiction :D . but if you guys are saying it’s ok then i will continue to write these till my profile is deleted. hey thanks a lot for the comment :)

  26. d.Nambiar told:

He hee!! You’re brilliant. That is such a cool post.
Looking forward to more 55s from you. (btw, I hope that crow spared you)

Gosh, looks like I’m the last one to visit this space. Believe me, if I’m missing from the blogosphere for a few days, I’ll make sure to come and check out what I missed on factsandnonsense.

  27. Shreya told:

    Nautanki!!! And still fun :P

  28. ghazala told:

    Very Witty :)

  29. Delhizen told:

you call this a 55er?? I am sorry but it didn’t even make me laugh.. unless its a joke on the concept. Hope you can write some better ones in the future…

    • Debajyoti told:

it’s neither a joke on the concept nor intended to make anyone laugh. it was just for some pageviews and i am getting it, thank you :D

having said that, it actually made few people smile. isn’t it better than a sick, unwarranted comment.

i have just checked your blog and i can totally understand the reason why you are so frustrated otherwise why would someone get angry with a post :D

      • Debajyoti told:

one more thing. please avoid my blog. there is no place for negativity here.

and by the way, i have deleted your link. you don’t want my nice and innocent visitors to click on your link out of curiosity. do you :D ?

  30. Dial143 told:

55 words. Now thats innovative. Awesome!

  31. megha told:

before i got to the blog, i was wondering how you would fit in a story in 55 words. Now I know! brilliant!

  32. mak told:

Kudos Deb. Hillarious. Where do you get these ideas dude..? Let me copy from you. Wil try out soon.
Well, did you read my first night experience..?check out my blog :)

    • Debajyoti told:

will check out your blog. haven’t read too many posts of late. thanks for the comment and please go ahead with your version of 55 word fiction :)

  33. wanderfool told:

    Loving these comic strips :)
Exact 55 words? Can be quite a challenge I am guessing!

    • Debajyoti told:

thanks but this image is not mine. 55 words? well, no big deal; just add some unnecessary words, that’s it. your 55 word story is ready.

  34. awesome!!!

    this one simply rocks!!!

  35. hey that’s ok Deb… don’t force yourself .. it should come naturally .. just because i post comments on your blog does not mean you have to repay back with comments ..

if you like any blog of mine , a read of it will be more rewarding for me than the comment :)

my love for your blog will not cease irrespective of the visits you give my blog ! :)

    have a happy weekend!!!

    rahul

    • Debajyoti told:

ha ha ha. no it’s not about forcing myself. i forget to check out the blogs which i love. i do keep a tab on your blog and what’s happening in your life. and it’s not repaying back with exact number of comments that you post here but as a friend, i should have few words to say every time you publish a post, just like how in real life we would like to know what’s happening in our friends’ lives. you like it or not, i am going to visit your blog tonight and post comments :D

  36. Latha told:

I somehow missed this. hehe..funny..I liked the cartoon..:P
